The Story Behind the Name Gems & Flowers

Gems & Flowers began with a single piece.

“The first piece, a ring composed of carved tourmaline roses, marked the beginning of a new creative direction.”

It was created shortly after the transition from LASKA, during a period of creative reset. There was no intention to define a collection or make a statement. The goal was simpler: to enjoy making jewelry intentionally, without direction imposed by schedules or trends.

Hand-carved tourmaline roses were chosen — stones set aside for a moment that felt right. The piece was shaped gradually, without urgency. The process mattered more than the outcome.

A quiet shift

As the ring came together, it felt distinct.

The carved flowers formed a unique composition, feminine and soft. Combined with a pastel lavender quartz, the piece felt discovered rather than designed. It did not reference fashion cycles or market expectations. It stood on its own.

When it was finished, the change was clear. This piece marked the beginning of a new creative direction.

Naming the essence

The name Gems & Flowers emerged naturally from that moment.

Gems — shaped by time, pressure, and chance. Each having it's own character.
Flowers — meaningful, timeless, alive. Always beautiful.

Together, they reflect a balance between permanence and delicacy, structure and softness. The name was not chosen for effect. It described what was already present in the work.

Establishing our brand standard

That first piece sold quickly, but its significance extended beyond the sale. It established a commitment to creating with inspiration, precision, and respect for natural materials.

Gems & Flowers continues to grow at its own pace freely and unrestrained. Each piece is guided by the same principles: creativity, craftsmanship, and quiet beauty.

The first ring remains a reference point.
Not as a beginning, but as a standard.
