FAQ

Honest answers, clear expectations, full transparency.

1. How is your jewelry made?

Our production varies by collection. Gems & Flowers pieces are created primarily through small-studio production with extensive hand fabrication and finishing. Of Elow pieces are original designs developed by us and produced in collaboration with specialist fine-jewelry workshops. Many stages involve skilled bench work, stone setting, polishing and finishing, with methods depending on the design.

2. How long does it take to make my jewelry?

Most pieces are made to order, with production times varying by design and collection. Many pieces are ready within 1 to 4 weeks, while more complex or custom designs may take longer. The estimated production time is shown on each product page.

Quality and slowness are part of the process.

3. Do you keep anything in stock?

We keep a selection of pieces ready to ship, while many designs are made to order or produced in small batches. This lets us keep inventory intentional while giving each piece the attention its design requires.

4. What materials do you use?

We work with:

  • Sterling silver
  • Solid 14K and 18K gold
  • Natural gemstones
  • Natural and lab-grown diamonds, depending on the design
  • Gold-plated/vermeil finishes where specified

Materials and stone types are clearly identified on each product page. Natural center stones and one-of-a-kind gemstones are selected for their individual color and character.

5. Can I request a custom length or small modification?

Often yes.
Chain lengths, ring sizes, and simple variations are usually possible.
For more complex requests, message me. I’ll always let you know what can realistically be modified or made to order.

6. Do you offer fully custom designs?

Yes. We can take only a limited number of fully custom projects because of the design and production time involved. If your idea aligns with our style, we’ll be happy to discuss it.

7. Where did Gems & Flowers begin?

Gems & Flowers grew from more than a decade of selling jewelry online, including many years on Etsy under earlier shop names. The independent website is now the main home for the brand, giving us more freedom over design, service, and how the business evolves.

8. How do I care for my jewelry?

Here are simple guidelines:

  • Keep jewelry away from chemicals, lotions, and chlorine
  • Clean gently with warm water and mild soap
  • Use a polishing cloth for silver
  • Store pieces separately to prevent scratches

Fine jewelry is made to last, but it still benefits from thoughtful care.

9. Do you ship internationally?

Yes.
Available shipping options and timelines appear at checkout.
Taxes and duties may apply depending on your country.

10. What if I do not know my ring size?

You can order a ring sizer or visit a local jeweler for an accurate measurement.
Proper sizing helps ensure a comfortable and accurate fit.

11. What is your return policy?

Most eligible pieces can be returned. Please contact us within 7 days of delivery and ship the return within 14 days. Customized and certain made-to-order pieces may not be returnable. Please see our full Returns & Exchanges policy for complete details.

If there is any issue with craftsmanship, we will fix it free of charge.
If you need adjustments or help with sizing, message us and we will do everything reasonably possible to help.

The goal is for you to love your piece.

12. Can I request a specific stone?

Yes, if the stone type is available.
We select stones individually, and we are happy to help you choose one with the tone or personality you prefer.

13. What goes into the price of your jewelry?

Our pricing reflects the materials, design work, skilled production, stone selection and setting, finishing, and the small quantities in which we produce. Solid precious metals and quality gemstones also account for a significant part of the cost.

We focus on design, craftsmanship and materials rather than high-volume production.

14. What makes Gems & Flowers different?

The pieces are created slowly and intentionally.
The designs are organic, nature-inspired, and emotionally driven.
Nothing is rushed or mass produced.

The jewelry is made to feel personal.

15. Can I contact you with questions?

Yes.
You can email anytime. I read every message personally, with help from a very small studio team.

16. Warranty FAQ

What does the warranty cover?

Craftsmanship issues only. This includes structural problems caused by materials or workmanship, such as loose settings, weak solder points, or breakage that happens without force.

What is not covered?

Damage from impact, bending, pulling, chemicals, water exposure, or general wear is not covered. Plating fade is also not covered because it happens naturally over time.

How long is the warranty?

Sterling silver jewelry is covered for 6 months.
Solid gold jewelry is covered for 2 years.

Does the warranty cover lost stones?

If a stone falls out due to a craftsmanship issue, it is covered.
If a stone falls out because of impact or rough wear, it is not covered.

Does the warranty cover plating?

No. Plating naturally softens and fades with wear. This is normal and not a defect. You can re-plate your piece or polish it to silver.

Do I pay for shipping on warranty repairs?

You pay for shipping the item to us.
We cover the return shipping for approved warranty repairs.

What happens after the warranty period ends?

We offer paid repairs at a fair price. You can send photos for an estimate.

How long do repairs take?

Usually 1 to 3 weeks for silver and 2 to 4 weeks for gold or stone setting work.

What if another jeweler worked on my piece?

Work done by another jeweler voids the warranty.
We will still try to help through a paid repair if the piece is salvageable.

How do I start a warranty claim?

Email us with your order number, a photo of the issue, and a clear picture of the full piece. We will assess it and guide you through the next steps.
