FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers, clear expectations, handmade transparency.

1. Are your pieces really handmade?

Yes. Every piece is made by hand one at a time.
No mass production.

Handmade is the center of the brand.

2. How long does it take to make my jewelry?

Most pieces are made to order and take 1 to 4 weeks to craft.
Some high-detail designs and custom work may take a little longer.

Quality and slowness are part of the process.

3. Do you keep anything in stock?

We have around 100 pieces ready to ship, but the majority are made as order.
This ensures fresh metal, individually chosen stones, and careful handmade quality.

4. What materials do you use?

I work with:

  • Solid gold (14-18K)
  • Sterling silver (925)
  • Natural gemstones
  • Ethically sourced materials whenever available

Each stone is selected individually for its character and color.

5. Can I request a custom length or small modification?

Often yes.
Chain lengths, ring sizes, and simple variations are usually possible.
For more complex requests, message me. I always give honest answers about what can be done by hand.

6. Do you offer fully custom designs?

Yes. But we can take only a limited number of custom projects due to the time involved in handmade work.
If your idea aligns with our style, we will be happy to discuss it.

7. What happened to your Etsy shop?

The Etsy shop, formerly called LASKA Fine Jewelry, closed when the brand outgrew the platform and we decided to re-brand to match our organic style.
Many customers reached out asking where I had gone, which confirmed it was time to create a stable and more intentional home for the work. That is how Gems & Flowers started.

You can read the complete story in Our Story page in the 'About' section.

8. Is the quality the same as it was on Etsy?

Yes. In many cases it is better.
The studio now has more freedom, stronger materials, and more time for refinement.
The pieces are still created by the same hands and the same process.

9. How do I care for my jewelry?

Here are simple guidelines:

  • Keep jewelry away from chemicals, lotions, and chlorine
  • Clean gently with warm water and mild soap
  • Use a polishing cloth for silver
  • Store pieces separately to prevent scratches

Handmade jewelry is durable, but it benefits from gentle care.

10. Do you ship internationally?

Yes.
Available shipping options and timelines appear at checkout.
Taxes and duties may apply depending on your country.

11. What if I do not know my ring size?

You can order a ring sizer or visit a local jeweler for an accurate measurement.
Proper sizing helps ensure a perfect fit for a handmade ring.

12. What is your return policy?

Since each piece is crafted to order, returns are limited.
If there is any issue with craftsmanship, we will fix it.
If you need adjustments or help with sizing, message us and we will do everything reasonably possible to help.

The goal is for you to love your piece.

13. Can I request a specific stone?

Yes, if the stone type is available.
We select stones individually, and we are happy to help you choose one with the tone or personality you prefer.

14. Why does handmade jewelry cost more?

Because handmade involves:

  • Hours of work by human hands
  • Individual stone selection
  • Solid precious metals
  • Slow refinement
  • Small-batch craftsmanship
  • Intention at every step

You are paying for skill, time, and artistry rather than volume or machinery.

15. What makes Gems & Flowers different?

The pieces are created slowly and intentionally.
The designs are organic, nature-inspired, and emotionally driven.
Nothing is rushed or mass produced.

The jewelry is made to feel personal.

16. Can I contact you with questions?

Yes.
You can email anytime. I read every message personally, with help from a very small studio team.

17. Warranty FAQ

What does the warranty cover?

Craftsmanship issues only. This includes structural problems caused by materials or workmanship, such as loose settings, weak solder points, or breakage that happens without force.

What is not covered?

Damage from impact, bending, pulling, chemicals, water exposure, or general wear is not covered. Plating fade is also not covered because it happens naturally over time.

How long is the warranty?

Sterling silver jewelry is covered for 6 months.
Solid gold jewelry is covered for 2 years.

Does the warranty cover lost stones?

If a stone falls out due to a craftsmanship issue, it is covered.
If a stone falls out because of impact or rough wear, it is not covered.

Does the warranty cover plating?

No. Plating naturally softens and fades with wear. This is normal and not a defect. You can replate your piece or polish it to silver.

Do I pay for shipping on warranty repairs?

You pay for shipping the item to us.
We cover the return shipping for approved warranty repairs.

What happens after the warranty period ends?

We offer paid repairs at a fair price. You can send photos for an estimate.

How long do repairs take?

Usually 1 to 3 weeks for silver and 2 to 4 weeks for gold or stone setting work.

What if another jeweler worked on my piece?

Work done by another jeweler voids the warranty.
We will still try to help through a paid repair if the piece is salvageable.

How do I start a warranty claim?

Email us with your order number, a photo of the issue, and a clear picture of the full piece. We will assess it and guide you through the next steps.
